What is your love language? Is it...gift giving, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, or words of affirmation?
It wasn't until recently that I discovered how much my love language makes up who I am. Growing up, words couldn't hurt me. I lived my life not worried about someone's thoughts of me, or whether they wanted to be my friend or not. I was just happy to be me and proud to be the person I was. This picture is an accurate description of how little Sam was through issues, all I did was smile and carried on.
As time has passed and I have gotten a new relationship with Christ, I definitely have gotten more sensitive and now care how I carry myself and how I can be the best Christian follower and example for those here on earth. As I have grown up, my parents always continued to support me, with their words particularly, it has meant everything to me. I started to realize that with every positive comment, encouragement, or even note they left me I felt amazing about myself and it made the difference in my day. Words can really make me, but I also have learned how much they can break me. It just takes one degrading comment, harsh word, or even an unintentional harsh conversation to knock me down. Maybe you feel the same way with your love language... it doesn't have to be words to make you or break you, it can be limited action, absent gifts, lack of quality time, or no physical touch.
"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing" 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Several times God describes the importance of our tongue and how we can use it as a weapon or in honor of His name. He is always cheering me on, giving me words of affirmation, and helping me through my day by reminding me how precious I am to Him. God knows each of our love languages and masters at each of them! You enjoy gift giving? Well God gave you the ultimate gift: Salvation! He also gives you the gift of life and hope everyday. You seek quality time? God does too! He is itching for you to spend at least five minutes of your day to talk with Him and acknowledge His presence. Physical touch? Well this one is a bit harder, but I like to look at it as a way that He has touched each of our hearts personally, and one day God will provide to us the perfect spouse who will love us and display the physical aspect that God has designed for each of us. How about acts of service? God constantly does service to use each day and blesses us in numerous ways! He is divine and perfect in all of His ways and displays all love languages to us when we need them most
Words are important to me and might be to you too! Or it could be one of the other languages that speaks out to you specifically... if that is the case and you feel like your friends or family is causing you to feel down in that aspect then just realize that they are human and aren't perfect. People have different love languages that appeal to them and sometimes it is hard to understand everyone's language and treat them according to what they need. However, God is perfect and is calling to you daily. He is constantly speaking your love language and is waiting for you to realize it.

Dear God,
Thank you so much for all you have done for your children. Thank you for loving us unconditionally and displaying that love to us when you sent your only Son to die for all of our sins. You are a good, good Father and I am so blessed to serve such an amazing Lord. God I pray for each of us to acknowledge you and your constant provision. You know each of our desires in life and display what we each need. Please help us get through the negative aspects of our love language that we face and please help us seek your loving nature. I love you with all of my heart! It is in Jesus name that I pray.
AMEN!
You amaze me, truly an inspiration. Thank you!!!
